Carla Smith is First Class graduate from the BA(Hon's) Photography programme at University Campus Suffolk. Prior to Carla's undergraduate studies, Carla studied a General Certificate of Education Advanced Level in Photography, at East Norfolk Sixth Form College, achieving an A* grade upon her completion. In 2012, Carla's body of work 'Surface' was selected to be shown internationally at Kaunas Photo Festival Lithuania, in order to represent the BA (Hons) photography programme at University Campus Suffolk in which she studies.
The work Carla creates, usually explores and raises questions about female representation and memory by utilising the technique of image appropriation and montage. The work created is usually produced on a personal level, in relation to Carla's questions and experiences to the world around her. Carla is continuously seeking collaborations / group exhibitions with other creative individuals and is willing to undertake commissions.
